The Temple Lot Case contains the sworn testimonies of witnesses in the court suit for possession of the Temple Lot in Independence, Missouri. Joseph Smith, Jr., the founder of the Church, pointed out the exact spot for the Temple of the Lord to be built. There are testimonies by Joseph Smith III, son of the Prophet; William Smith, brother of Joseph, Jr.; James Whitehead, the Prophet's secretary, and other members of the Reorganized Church.
